The Garden of Cosmic Speculation, the garden belonging to its designer CharlesJencksis a firm favourite of ours. Nestled just outsideDumfriesand only open one day a year, you need to make a bit of an effort to see this one. But, boy, is it worth it! From the infamousJenckslandforms to woodland walkways and sculptures at every turn, there is never a dull moment in this garden. The garden is inspired by mathematics and science and beholds features such as theBlackholeand the DNA garden.Entry money goes to the Maggies Cancer Caring Centres which were set up in memory of Charles late wife, MaggieKeswickJencks.

Amazing garden. So glad I finally got to see it. Only open one day a year, so needs advanced planning.

This is a truly wonderful garden on a grand scale. It's only open to the public on one day every year.

Only open one day a year for Maggies centres so expected a crowd. We didnt allow for it being a great sunny day so it was more than just crowded. The gardens are fabulous but less relaxing with so many folk there. Could not even be bothered to queue in the heat for tea. Most people seemed prepared with some excellent looking picnics. It would be fantastic if it was possible to visit here at another time of the year but that is not going to happen so you need to pack your picnics and go for it.

Busy but not crowded. Ample parking and helpful very friendly staff. The grounds were impressive on a large scale. Interactive, fun and thought provoking. Best suited to the more mobile as a lot of areas are without paths.
