Absolutely beautiful pub, great atmosphere and excellent top notch food... No wonder its won pub of the year so many times.
Incredibly efficient & friendly staff, great service. Delicious vegan options on their menu included a lovely breaded garlic mushrooms, smokey kidney bean gumbo & mango sorbet (sadly the hot chilli pineapple dish had run out!). Recommended!
This outstanding pub is the local CAMRA pub of the year. There are around half a dozen beers to try. If you want, they will serve you with three third pint glasses so you can taste and remain upright. No review of the Craven Arms is possible without mentioning the food. It is quite excellent. I had the home made steak pie. Lovely, light puff pastry and filled with tender meat and rich gravy. Highly recommended if you're in Dumfries and hungry, thirsty or both
The Cavens Arms is a family favourite!! Good food and plenty of it at great prices. All the staff are friendly , lovely and very helpful. It is nearly always busy but they will do their very best to get you a table. Slight drawback is reservations are are only taken for 5 or more people. Very good draft beer and cider.Highly recommend when visiting Dumfries.x
