Fabulous hotel with excellent staff, food and facilities... The hotel itself is very old, and they have used the features well. The only thing that could be a downside, is that it kinda looks like Stanley Hotel from the Shining on the inside!
Loved the food, the atmosphere, the staff, the cost, the pool and my room. Only trouble I had was the shower...not good water pressure, but beautiful and well layed out bathroom. Beds were comfy and rooms were clean and quiet. Enjoyed my stay in and around the hotel!
The Cairndale welcomed the England ladies short mat team. We had a fantastic time here. The food was delicious with a good choice. All staff have been outstanding.
Lovely hotel, a bit dated but clean and welcoming with very friendly staff. There is almost an Art Deco feel to the decoration of the main areas, which I liked as it wasn't run-of-the-mill-just-like-everywhere-else and gave it some personality! Food was first class and entertainment, we were there for an Abba tribute night, was excellent. My only complaint, and it's a very small one, was that the actual hotel wasn't the warmest in places. Some corridors were a bit chilly and the big hall we were in for our meal and entertainment seemed to have the air conditioning on. In December you kind of feel like it's not necessary! However, the rooms were lovely and toasty, beds comfy and "little extras" like tea & coffee making facilities and toiletries are a lovely touch.
Meal was lovely and it was piping hot. Staff were courteous and professional. Very efficient service and our designated member of staff even joined in our Carol singing
